Years in CRE: 20+
What motivated you to get involved in the CRE Industry? After 12 years in a corporate office marketing seat for a national tool manufacturer, I had enough of too many spreadsheets, flights, and beige hotel rooms. I craved work I could touch. A chance to sell commercial asphalt paving came along, and I jumped. From paving to commercial landscaping to my current home with a commercial GC, I fell in love with CRE’s constant change and the rush of watching dirt turn into places people actually use.
What gets me up now is the legacy: every subcontractor paid, every PM who grows, every client who thrives, and every space that improves lives long after we hand over the keys.
What is your proudest achievement thus far?
In 2019, I received the Wings Foundation’s Lawrence A. Atler Partners in Healing Award, which "Recognizes the invaluable role that loved ones, friends, and allies of all kinds play in the recovery process of sexual abuse survivors."
Of all my milestones, this one resonates most—it showed me that championing people beyond your industry or career can change lives, not just project outcomes.
What are one or two professional aspirations or goals you have for the next 5 years?
I have a mission to Redefine the construction experience. Through my “Beyond the Blueprint” and “Beyond the Bid” initiatives, I’m streamlining how clients choose partners, cutting cost and friction for everyone from brokers to subcontractors, while elevating the experience across the entire industry.
Harness AI to amplify human connection. I’m building AI agents to handle desk work so I can spend my days where I’m most valuable—face-to-face with people, delivering a standout construction experience.
Bonus: Keep “Continue meeting authentic friends…”
Which NAIOP Colorado/Corporate committees or forums have you been involved with?
Since joining NAIOP Colorado in January 2025, I’ve attended the Programs, Public Policy, and Communications & Engagement committees. I’m mostly listening and learning now, but I look forward to contributing meaningful value as I grow with the organization.
What career advice would you like to share that you wish you had learned sooner?
Speak up! Even if it rattles the room. You’re paid to spot what others don’t, so put your idea on the table, defend it, and invite others to poke holes. Breakthroughs happen where candid perspectives collide.
Share a fun/interesting fact about yourself:
I’m a three-time Emmy winner and co-producer of an award-winning documentary short that became Oscar-qualified. Ask me about it sometime!
