A
huge welcome to the Colorado Chapter of NAIOP!
I am pleased to be
able to serve as NAIOP-Colorado's 2009 President. Our Chapter represents
a significant and diverse constituency of over 700 members engaged in
and committed to the commercial real estate industry. We continue to grow
our membership base and are proud to currently be the 4th largest chapter
of the 58 in the country. Both this year and over the past many years,
our Chapter has received national recognition for the quality of our programs,
active involvement of our members, and our legislative impact at the state
house. This recognition is a product of the engaged and committed membership
base we are fortunate to have in Colorado.
During the past year,
our Corporate NAIOP Office in Washington, D.C. did away with the acronym
for which our organization previously stood. NAIOP became a name for our
local and national organization and we are now known as the Commercial
Real Estate Development Association. Though this is a challenging time
for our industry, now more than ever NAIOP-Colorado is committed to being
there for its members. As the Commercial Real Estate Development Association
we are committed to providing all the value we possibly can to our members.
This includes: 1) local and national networking opportunities on an ongoing
basis, 2) educational programs and series, 3) philanthropic activities
in which we contribute back to our communities in an effort to enhance
the caliber of these places we call home, and 4) a legislative initiative
aimed at being the primary and most effective voice in both local and
regional governmental affairs, as well as nationally. This key legislative
process is geared at first protecting and second promoting our commercial
real estate businesses and industry.
Both our Chapter
leadership and our professional staff are there to ensure you get as much
benefit and value from your involvement in NAIOP-Colorado as possible.
The success of our Chapter is driven by our members. It is absolutely
true that you will get out of it what you put into it. So, get involved
and get engaged in a meaningful and contributing manner. Involvement on
a specific committee typically represents the best avenue for involvement
in the Chapter. Let us know where your interests lie and we'll work to
align you accordingly. Through this process, I am certain that you will
find far more worth in your membership.
We look forward to
your becoming a member and being an active contributor to NAIOP-Colorado's
future. There exists no better opportunity to connect with and become
associated with the local and regional commercial real estate industry
and its leaders than through our Chapter.
We look forward to
seeing you!
Sincerely,

Craig A. Poulter
2009 NAIOP-Colorado Chapter President
