"Aging
Gracefully: An Economic Outlook for 2007"
The new year will mark the sixth year of the current expansion,
a fairly advanced age for economic cycles. If we are to extend
the prosperity, we'll have to handle several issues carefully.
Is the housing industry correcting or crashing? Will energy
prices continue to tax businesses and consumers? How will
the new Congress and the new Federal Chairman react to all
of this? Carl Tannenbaum will discuss the answers to these
and other questions.
"Winding
Paths: Changing Growth Directions in Metro Denver?"
The economic recovery in Metro Denver solidified in 2006,
but new concerns are being raised about the area's ability
to continue on its growth path in 2007. What industry trends
and developments will help Metro Denver maintain its current
economic expansion? How have recent economic conditions impacted
the residential and nonresidential real estate markets? What
are the key issues related to the availability and quality
of the Metro Denver workforce? Patty Silverstein will discuss
these and other issues as she examines current and projected
growth trends at the state and local level.
