How severe is the U.S. recession? Are energy prices stabilizing?
How could things get better/worse? Mike Englund, a frequent

Patty
Silverstein
Chief Consulting Economist of Metro Denver Economic Development
Corporation &
President, Development Research Partners
In light of the global and national economic overview, what
are the implications for Colorado and the Denver Metro area?
What recent events are noteworthy and how will they affect
employment, job growth and economic expansion along the Front
Range? What industries are contracting and which are expanding?
What industries and employers will likely lead a rebound in
the local economies? The answers to these will be discussed
by Patty Silverstein, as she examines current and projected
growth trends at the state and local level.
Tom
Thibodeau
Global Real Estate & Capital Markets Professor, University
of Colorado
Given all the forces at work, what are the implications for
the state and Front Range real estate markets? How have recent
economic conditions affected the residential and commercial
markets? Are the markets still retrenching? What are the implications
for real estate capital, both on the debt and equity side?
Where are investment cap rates and values today relative to
the recent past and where are they heading? How will owners
of commercial projects refinance debt and will there be significant
foreclosures or workouts? Tom Thibodeau will discuss these
matters and provide some historical data to help predict the
future of the state and regional real estate markets.
