Future Plans and Goals
Over the next
year, the Common Cents Fund plans to:
- Expand our
relationship with our lobbying firm, Axiom Strategies Incorporated,
to continue development of our legislative involvement, PAC contributions,
and other activities in addition to direct lobbying on behalf
of NAIOP, our members and customers.
- Engage in
pro-active relations with our legislators and local representatives,
including direct one-on-one contact, receptions, letter writing
and other strategies designed to enhance our image and influence
with our elected officials.
- Continue
grassroots activity by expanding our capabilities to track contacts
with legislators.
- Continue
to expand our Political Action Committee and our Small Donor Committee
in accordance with Amendment 27.
- Encourage
selected NAIOP members with expertise in particular fields to
be resources for elected officials, and to testify at Committee
Hearings.
- Continue
to enhance the image of our organization and the commercial real
estate industry and expand our legislative and media strategy.
- Develop
relationships with key media who cover our industry and become
the recognized spokespersons of the commercial real estate industry.
- Continue
and expand our dialogue with other trade and industry groups.
- Expand our
involvement in economic development efforts.
- Improve
our bill monitoring system in conjunction with our lobbying firm.
- Implement
our communication plan.
- Become more
pro-active, rather than reactive, to various public policy issues.
