Mustache4Cash/Color4Kids: September 2011-October 2011 With October rapidly approaching, the 2011 Mustache4Cash/Color4Kidz (M4C/C4C) Event is getting read to kickoff! For those of you unfamiliar with the event, M4C/C4C is a fundraiser where participants either grow a mustache or add color to a streak of their hair for the first three weeks in October and get others to sponsor their efforts. The beneficiaries for this event are Byrne Urban Scholars and Colorado Youth at Risk. These organizations are dedicated to working with at risk youth in Denver's less affluent communities through scholarships, mentoring and tutoring. These organizations make it possible for inner-city youths to compete more successfully for employment, become better qualified for further education, and contribute more productively to society.
The NAIOP Developing Leaders (DL) have organized a team and participated in this event for the past few years. In 2009 and 2010, the NAIOP DL team have been among the Top 10 Teams each year and have raised over $8,000 - all funds raised go to benefit Byrne Urban Scholars and Colorado Youth at Risk. Not only does this the M4C/C4C Program support a great cause, but it's a great time as well. In addition to the Kick Off party scheduled for September 29, there are weekly How's It Growing Happy Hour events and the challenge concludes with a costume party Bash featuring live entertainment. Wash Park Trail Restoration Day - October 15, 2011 Join your fellow NAIOP members for a fun day volunteering outdoors at beautiful Wash Park! On Saturday, October 15, you will have the opportunity to join several other volunteers through Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado in helping restore the outer loop of the Wash Park Trail in Denver. Family members over the age of 8 are welcome to join the NAIOP team as well. The day begins at 8:00 am and will conclude when the work is finished (mid-afternoon). Breakfast and lunch will be served.
